The Dahlia is Moving!

Along with Red Dog Squadron, we are the proud new owners of The Circle Theatre!!  Boasting two spaces–a 45 seat and an 88 seat theatre–the Dahlia will now have the opportunity to produce plays on a larger scale.

Just steps from Paramount Studios, the Circle is rich in history.

It was founded in 1946 by a group of UCLA drama students led by Sydney Chaplin.  The theatre was notable for the presence of Sydney’s father, Charlie, who became a supporter and eventually directed several productions. Here he is at work:

In the 80s the Circle found new life under the name The Cast Theatre, where premieres of plays by Justin Tanner and John Patrick Shanley made it the hot place to see new work in Los Angeles.
We look forward to continuing this theatrical legacy!

For more info about the move, check out this article about it in the LA Stage Times.
Stay tuned for a 2013 season announcement!
